Disclaimer – Important Notice – Read before Purchase and Use
1. Intended use
Ramped Up Racks are specifically designed to be mounted directly to a 50mm square tow hitch located on the rear of a non-towed vehicle , such as a car, SUV, or 4WD.
Do not mount the rack:
- On the rear of any vehicle that is being towed (e.g., caravans, campers, trailers), or
- On a motorhome.
Important:
Mounting the rack using an adaptor to fit a 50mm tow hitch is not recommended,
unless such modifications are completed by a qualified fabricator and
certified safe for
use. Any deviation from the intended use is done entirely at your own risk .
Ramped Up
accepts no responsibility and will not be liable for any damage, claims, or injuries
arising from misuse or incorrect installation.
2. Is Your Vehicle Suitable ?
Ramped Up makes no representations or guarantees regarding the
compatibility of
your vehicle with our bike racks. Although our product specifications include general
guidelines on vehicle suitability, these are intended for informational
purposes only and
should not be solely relied upon.
We strongly recommend consulting your vehicle manufacturer or a
qualified
professional to confirm the compatibility of your tow hitch, vehicle chassis, and
frame
with our rack.
Important Load Limitations:
- The combined weight of the rack and bikes must not exceed 60% of your vehicle's tow ball down load rating.
- Maximum load capacities:
- 4-bike rack: 100 kg.
- 2-bike rack: 70 kg.
- Load ratings may be reduced when driving on gravel, dirt, or uneven roads. We recommend using ratchet straps to brace the rack to your vehicle for additional stability on rough terrain.
- Always install the rack as close to the vehicle body as possible to minimize leverage and stress on the vehicle chassis.
Ramped Up accepts no liability for damage or injury resulting from failure to comply with these guidelines.
3. Safety Precautions
To ensure the safe operation of your Ramped Up Rack, please adhere to the following precautions:
- Regular Inspections: Check for signs of wear, damage, or loose components before each use. Address issues promptly.
- Secure Mounting: Confirm that the rack is firmly and correctly mounted to the tow hitch before every journey.
- Even Load Distribution: Balance the weight across the rack to prevent tilting and to reduce strain on your vehicle.
- Speed and Terrain: Drive cautiously and within speed limits—particularly on rough, uneven, or unsealed roads.
- Rack Removal: We strongly recommend removing the rack when not in use. An empty rack can present a hazard to pedestrians and other vehicles.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ramped Up Designs accepts no liability for:
- Damage to any property, including but not limited to your vehicle, bicycles, or accessories;
- Personal injury or death arising from the use, misuse, installation, or failure of any Ramped Up product;
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses or damages resulting from the use or inability to use the product.
By purchasing and using a Ramped Up rack, you acknowledge and accept that you do so at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure that the product is used in accordance with all provided instructions and guidelines, and that your vehicle is suitable for the product being installed.
